Artist History
The group of artists now known as "o.h.m." was formed by Atsushi Miyamoto, David Alva and Jagger-BleuGonzales. Originally know as Chinga Monkey, they booked there 1st show at a coffee shop in Alhambra Ca(late 1996). Quickly things progressed for Chinga Monkey as their 3rd show (the 1997 unsigned on sunset competition) won theme a slot in the finalists round at The House of Blues. After only 6 months of playing the LA circuit, Chinga Monkey had started a buzz and a steady following that would rapidly accumulate over the following year. In mid 1998 Chinga Monkey under went artistic differences which lead to the departure of their singer, and the beginning of a year long search for the perfect addition which would eventually become the band O.h.m. After auditioning vocalists form all over the nation, Chris-Paul Basso and Mahina Yuki Teruchi completed the gap that needed to be filled in order to create O.h.m. Now, in 2001, O.h.m. has quickly picked up where Chinga Monkey had left off and then some. Establishing a loyal fan base and a buzz that is expanding with each show. O.h.m. was broadcasted as part of the sound track to MTV's Undressed. and was recently featured in an on going documentary aired on the TV show "IM" in Japan. |
