Artist History
Marcela began playing the piano at the age of 3. She was clasically trained until the age of 17. At 15, her and a friend (Courtney Lavender) started an all-girl band called I You Was. Their repertoire consisted of originals and covers by The Beatles and U2. It was with the band that Marcela learned to express herself through composition. The band broke up when she was 17. She has since then performed as a solo artist in coffeehouses and clubs around the San Fernando Valley. Fans are enamored by this stuttering pianist whose songs of broken friendships, countless "almost" relationships, and bitter honesty draw them into a world of hidden beauty. |
