Press Reviews
I really like the cushion theory and they know me well enough to know that I won't lie, even for them. So, how to proceed reviewing them as artists? I guess we could start by delineating what the cushion theory are not. I doubt they would mind becoming rock stars, but they haven't affected a gimmick or lowered themselves behind false personalities to gain notoriety. No make-up necessary.
They just are, and that makes them all very pleasant fellows. These boys aren't endowing their lyrics with artificial mood or mystery. They say what they mean without beating any bushes. And damn, you should see them play. They smile and radiate, and you can tell they're having too much fun...you'd be jealous to see it. With roots deep in classic rock and indie pop they can't help but rock.
So, what is the cushion theory? It's a sound and a vision. It's full and complicated; it's the feeling you get after being pleasantly surprised. No apologies. |
