Artist History
Music is in need of a savior. A true artist. One who refuses to be bound by trendy demands. An artist who reminds us of from where music has come, and can lead us where music needs to evolve. That artist is here. His name is Soul. What can be said about Soul? Plenty. An accomplished songwriter, singer, and musician, Soul defines the parameters of what today’s artists should measure themselves. Not bogged down with pressures of competition, Soul sets out to send a message to your heart…your soul. A message of change…of love…of peace. Whatever your spirit desires, Soul has the answer. His music has been baked in the oven of the forefathers, seasoned with the spices and herbs of the music masters. Creation.Born in to a musical family from Philadelphia, Soul had a purpose from the start. While growing in size and stature, his musical talents took form, as he became active in the church. From singing in the choir, performing in church groups, to writing choir songs, he learned how to touch souls through melody and lyric. While in college to pursue basketball and a degree in marketing, he realized music was his true calling. A chance meeting with Keisa Brown, a local jazz singer, gave Soul the chance not only to perform in the elite of jazz clubs, but the opportunity to act in, and produce a jazz soundtrack for Keisa’s stage play, “The Dinah Washington Story”.The Music. When you listen to his songs, you hear the voices of the Angels. The guitar beckons you with every stroke of the strings. Fighting to find a way to breathe, you pull away from the guitar only to realize the bass line has blocked your path. The keyboards scream with joy as you follow them back into the track…giving in to the strength of the music. But those words…Lyrical injections of melodic wisdom. Teaching you about spiritual freedom. Or maybe he’s telling you how much he admires you from afar. Or maybe he wants to make love…giving you the key to every angelic fantasy you ever imagined. Whatever he’s saying, you’re all ears. In fact, you are in a trance. Not realizing that not only is he dancing his way into you soul…but into your very existence. And when it is all over, you realize that he is simply the part of you that has been dying to come out…the part of you that you were afraid to open up…the part of you that is connected to God. |
