Artist History Kevin and Kellie have more than just a marriage, baby, house and a cat. They have music. Growing up, both of their families have had an affinity for music. "far from home" was created five years ago and has evolved in emotions, attitude and style, This band has an electric blend of pop with influences of blues, rock and jazz. far from home’s third CD, "New Kind of Love", was written for Kevin & Kellie’s young son, Benjamin. Having a child carries so many emotions from extreme joy and love to loneliness. "After having a child, I felt this sense of fear and was forced to deal with it," said Kevin. The song "Someday" deals with one’s progression of realization and understanding in the search for happiness. On "New Kind of Love", Kevin and Kellie tried new ways of collaboration. They both wrote songs separately with other writers. Kevin also took a more active role in the lyrics, while Kellie tried writing some music for "Same Mistake". One thing stayed constant, they wrote their music to express feelings and emotions that might not be released any other way. Far from home is on a journey, continually seeking their own sense of spirituality. Kevin and Kellie wrote "In a Moment" to depict moments of the path they have walked together. "We’re excited about this new album because it defines our life events" says Kellie. Both Kevin and Kellie are forward thinking and have a positive outlook. The CD "New Kind of Love" releases in October 2001. far from home will be touring the Bay area as well as Portland, Oregon. Kellie Bishop - Born in 1965 Kellie was raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Now age 36, Kellie has been singing since age 12. Kellie and her two sisters grew up in a musically inclined household. With her father a drummer, Kellie had been exposed to music and played throughout her childhood. Now living in Dundee, OR Kellie is enjoying being a new mother and creating music with husband Kevin of five years. Kevin O’Loughlin - Born in 1963, Kevin was raised in Tampa, Florida. Kevin’s first musical performance was in high school by a band named "Nuclear Fusion". Playing the Dobro, acoustic and electric guitar, Kevin created a band nine years ago with his brother called Red House. Later moved on to far from home after meeting his future wife Kellie Bishop. Now age 38, Kevin and Kellie have produced their third cd. Kevin recently found out his parents had a love for music.
