His name, Demetric Brown, AKA. Equipp. Equipp's intricate phrases, skillful precision, catchy hooks and changing styles results in a refreshing Hip-Hop sound that crosses new boundaries. Equipp describes his music as ''reality influenced by rap''. He started rapping when he was 9 and was influenced by such acts as N.W.A, Run-D.M.C. and LL Cool J. More recent influences have been Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. When Equipp was 16 he started his own group called K.I.N.G.S and performed at his school and other local venues. Over the pasts 7 years Equipp has been a member of several other groups as well as a solo artist were he refined his skills as a rapper. Equipp has performed all over the Washington, D.C. area and has a large and loyal following. In July 2000 Equipp was introduced to producer David ''The General'' Ashby. Equipp signed to Hot Ash in November and started working on his debut album 'Don't Stop!' in February 2001. Don't Stop! is a hardcore Hip-Hop fan's delight that evinces exceptional diversity.
