Artist description
A Blue Hotel is a tunefull guitar based combo whose musical influences range from a heavy dose of sixties and seventies rock and roll to traditional country, blues, and folk. They keep the arrangements crisp and tight, placing the songs' simple lyrics and Isaac Whitson's vocals front and center, then filling in the edges with acoustic and electric guitars and subtle harmonies. Their set may include the occasional Dylan or Stones cover mixed in amongst their worthy originals. A very good live act. |

Artist History
A Blue Hotel formed in Knoxville, TN. in 1993 when Rob Pruitt, Isaac Whitson, and Jared Whitson began playing together while in high school. They moved in early '95 to southern California where they lived in and around San Diego. They recorded some short e.p.s' and played the club scene. With their music taking a more roots/ americana influenced turn, they decided, in late '98, to move to Nashville. They played as a trio for about a year before adding Ezra Whitson(no relation) on bass guitar. They are currently playing in support of a full length cd " A Blue Hotel". |
