    Artist History
From beneath the streets of Brooklyn, New York comes INHUMAN. Formed in the spring of 1995 by vocalist Michael Carl, INHUMAN combines the sounds of the late 80's/early 90's NYHC scene with a punk attitude and dark, melodic edges. The band has been working hard for nearly 7 years and have the track record to prove it with 2 full-length CDs and countless compilation appearances and shows. INHUMAN has toured with ALL OUT WAR in 1997, an East Coast tour on their own in the Spring of 1998 and a full US tour in the Summer of 1998 with SHUTDOWN and have since then played countless shows in the Northeast. With their latest material, INHUMAN have shed the trappings of the "traditional" New York sound and added more elements of Punk and Metal to create a new hybrid of dark Hardcore to appeal to all types of aggressive music. These tracks are only a sample of what will be INHUMAN's third full-length release, destined to be a landmark for the scene.

    Press Reviews
Words of praise for INHUMAN's "REBELLION"Ink 19 - April 2000: " Will this take your head off? Absolutely. Ive already worn out this cd. The intensity does not stop at all. Finally something that rocks and isnt infected with rap overtones. My prayers have been answered."TERRORIZER MAGAZINE - August 2000 (7.5 out of 10): " Inhuman takes that traditional NY sound and inject it with a big dose of irreverent attitude and youthful enthusiasm....FEROCIOUSLY PUNK based in sound....the album grabs you with great intent from start to finish. This is good strong stuff."UNDER THE VOLCANO - #55: " Inhuman should be one of the most popular bands around, especially if they can get this album heard. This is a monster piece of the REAL stuff. You should all do yourselves a favor and check this out. As Hardcore goes, this could teach any Victory band what it's all about. A modern day masterpiece.."ROCKPILE - Feb 2000: "The songs are short, to the point and don't fuck around...Hardcore down to a science.."TRYDENT FANZINE - December 1999: "Heavy, dark and brooding, but somewhat melodic all at once. Inhuman mix the sounds of the old with the new with a rare talent that not many bands can accomplish."AARDSCHOK MAGAZINE - April 2000: European glossy Metal magazine that gave the band a 93 out 0f 100!!! The highest rating out of all the Hardcore/Punk bands reviewed in the issue!!!CMJ - November 1999: "Inhuman are poised to carry the Hardcore torch into the new Millenium."PUNK PLANET - #38 July/August 2000: " Harsh blasts of NYHC without fitting into the popular Agnostic Front mold. Great straight through."D.I.Y ZINE - #3 2000: "This is what Hardcore needs if you ask me, a band with balls!"SOUNDVIEWS - #49 - Lee Greenfeld     Inhuman are from Brooklyn(!), cover possibly the best hardcore song ever written, sample Henry Miller, have a theme song (like all true HC bands should) and encourage reading in their liner notes-this could be the perfect band!  11 songs of mostly fast-though I wish they got a little faster-trad NYHC with a hint of metal (which works), and throat shredding vocals reminiscent of at times of Lou from Sick of it All.  A mighty fine debut from a band that I look forward to hopefully seeing seeing live soon.Guillotine - # 16 - Don Bucco     The long awaited release from Brooklyn's other shocktroop squadron.  And was it worth the wait??  You betcha!!  Fronted by none other than former Confusion primo Mike Scondotto, these guys take it to the next level of primal, giving you an idea of what Tom G Warrior (Satanic Slaughter, to those in the know) and Celtic Frost might've sounded like if they went in for a more NYHC sound and approach - muscially, that is.  Definately one release I would recommend. VERY Mailorder Distrubution - Fall 1997     This is by far one of the best pure NYHC records I've heard in a while.  Reminds me as if you took some of the best parts of the legendary NYHC bands, like Sick of it All (esp. in the vocals), early Leeway, & Cro-Mags and combined them in a well produced and modern way.   Think true NYHC with a little more metal and groove as well as some old school style.  If you like any of those bands, be sure to check this out because it's killer. TERRORIZER - February 1998 - Ian Glasper     From deceptively melancholic bass intro, and mournful, musical build-up, opener "Dwell" shifts gear into a driving metallic riff reminiscent of second album Cro Mags, before exploding into and Old School type work out, in the vein of early Sick of it All, and that pretty much sets the stage for the rest of Inhuman's debut album.  They mix and match all your favorite Hardcore flavors, into a thoroughly satisfying whole.        "Crippled Inside" has verse passages so fast and tight, and Mike's vocals bark with such precision, I'm reminded of how the Crumbsuckers sounded at their awesome best, and this song rubs shoulders, comfortably enough, I hasten to add, with something like "My Dedication", with its uplifting feel and almost Punky singalong choruses.  Elsewhere, you get breakdown sections, with rampaging gang back-ups, and even big rolling grooves, ala Biohazard, all delivered with fearsome intensity.  Inhuman really are a product of their musical upbringing in NYC, having absorbed the best that city has to offer and enthusiastically reinterpreted it through their own instruments.  Fans of the above mentioned bands will NOT be disappointed.STATE OF MIND - #3     Let me start by saying that this record surprised me and blew me away.  On this CD, you get 11 songs of straight up hardcore with more of a metal edge to it, plus a Negative Approach cover (Nothing) and a Confusion cover (Selfish.)  Most of the songs on this recording feature former Inhumans, Jay on Bass and Larry on guitar.  There is a noticeable difference between the sound of the songs recorded by them and the sound of the songs recorded by new guitarist Walter and new bassist Justin, but this is just a minor flaw.  All in all, the music is very heavy, fast and aggressive and Mike's vocals compliment this with a raging and intense sound.   My favorite song has to be Dwell, because of it's slow start and intense buildup.    Right now, Inhuman has made a name for themselves in the New York scene and I urge you to pick this one up because you won't be disappointed.  Write to: Eyeball Records, PO Box 1653, Peter Stuyvesant Station, New York, NY, 10009 or email: eyeballrec@aol.com    Also the number to reach Inhuman inside the booklet is wrong.  The correct number to reach Inhuman is (718) 934-6568.IN EFFECT - #11 - Chris Wynne     .....this is one solid release.   Musically Inhuman draws influences from a wide array of hardcore greats.   First off Negative Approach comes to mind especially since they do a cover of NA's "Nothing."  Sheer Terror pops up at times as well.   Inhuman does wear their influences on their sleeve at times, yes but in the meantime they have produced one heck of a surprisingly good CD.  "True Northeastern Hardcore" is the slogan on the back of their shirts and who am I to argue.   Definitely worth your hard earned hardcore buck. VICTORYMEGAZINE - Winter 1997/1998 - Clint Billington     As far as I can tell, this band formed out of the ashes of Confusion and is powerfully picking up where they left off.  The big bonus for me was that Rich O'Brian from Darkside NYC (one of the greatest bands ever) sings vocals on "Nothing" which was originally done by Negative Approach.   This records is a good mixture of old school power with some new school metal, to give you a much needed dose of raw power.  Now can you beat a band who's lead singer (Mike S.) is proud to wear an ABSU shirt to a show.  This band definitely has the heart to become a staple in the HC scene.
