Let's recap: When there was sound, man was moved. When man was moved, he moved to to emulate that sound. the sound of a mother's heartbeat, for instance, it usually instantly quiets an infant. The embryonic state is ALWAYS subjected to the rhythm of the mother, until birth. The shock from leaving that place, well, we don't dare imagine, that's why we can't remember being born - some say. Now, if the beat of rhythmic music is so close to the heartbeat of a docile human being, that human being seems to find a quick affinity with that music. Case in point: Muslim gauze, Crash Worship ADRV, Dead Can Dance... all these artists are purists when it comes to utilizing the inherent qualities within drum work and the effect it has on the human psyche and motor functions.
