Artist History
Born in Maputo, Mozambique in 1976. Got influenced by Hip Hop when break dancing became popular. Got influence by Latin music in Cuba.
In 1990 left to Lisbon, Portugal where the love for hip ho music was solidified. In portuga I witness the hip hop movement grow from the underground circuit to the main stream.
Traveling to Maryland, U.S., got expose to hip hop on it's natural habitad.
On 1997 he moved to Thunder Bay, North West Ontario,and joined a group of DJ’s by the name of Ruff Riders Sound Crew, a revolutionary crew that made history by having the first Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae nights on Thunder Bay. By 1999 I left Thunder Bay, when the hip hop revolution was starting.
In December 1999 he returns to Maputo, Mozambique, to later in February 14, 2000 move to Port Elizabeth, South Africa where he joined CBFM a community radio station, until june 2003.
DJ Santo was born in Maputo, Mozambique in 1976. Trough the 1980’s DJ Santo was influenced by Hip Hop when break dancing became popular, he also was expose to graffiti. In 1987 he left to Havana, Cuba where he was influenced by Latin music and learned to speak Spanish, and also was where the love for hip hop and R&B started growing.
In 1990 left to Lisbon, Portugal where the love for hip ho music was solidified. From dancing in parties to Deejaying for the first time in parties, he soon expanded his love to hip hop music to producing music. He also witness the hip hop movement grow from the underground circuit to the main stream.
By 1995 Santo was in is way to Maryland, U.S., however the two year spend in Maryland where mainly dedicated to education and a few house parties.
On 1997 he moved to Thunder Bay, North West Ontario, where he attended Lakehead University (L.U.). At L.U. he joined a group of DJ’s by the name of Ruff Riders Sound Crew, a revolutionary crew that made history by having the first Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae nights on Thunder Bay. He also was involved in class project that intended to bring back the to life the old campus radio station. By 1999 when he left Thunder Bay, the Country dominated radio stations had started play Hip Hop and R&B.
In December 1999 he returns to Maputo, Mozambique, to later in February 14, 2000 move to Port Elizabeth, South Africa where he joined CBFM , a community radio station and promote Hip Hop culture.
Curently I'm just studying and waiting 2 return with a bang with Cosa Negra Ent. |
