Artist History When Anne Murphy was growing up, her family worshiped each Sunday at Inwood Baptist Church. Though she no longer attends that church, the country gospel music singer credits her experience at Inwood Baptist with instilling in her a deep faith in God and a passion for music. But it was her mother, who encouraged Anne to follow her dream of becoming a singer. The 40-year-old performer also thinks her talent for music was God given through her mother.In 1995, she won a talent contest at Southern Country Dance Land that was in Haines City before it closed a few years ago. Three years later, Anne participated in the Orange Blossom Country Music Association State Competition. She walked away with two Horizon Awards, one for female vocalist and the other for female entertainer. Two years ago, she met Curtis Andrews, owner of the Kissimmee- based Ready Records. Several of her singles are included in two of the company’s compilation CDs, Waves of Glory’’ and Beyond the Sunset.’’ After the CDs were distributed to radio stations, Murphy found her singles Side of Angels’’ and I’m Ready Any Time’’ listed on the New York Music Review Top Independent Inspirational Songs.
