Artist History The steel drum, or pan, is the newest and most unique addition to the world of acoustic musical instruments. Created on the island of Trinidad, the drums were fashioned by hand from oil barrels discarded by American ships during World War II. Since that time, the pan has evolved into an instrument of unequaled beauty and charm, still handmade just as it was in the 1940s. Our drums are made and tuned by the finest artisans in the world.
