Artist History
Born in Accra, Ghana, Kobby was raised in a
musical family and started studying classical
music at an early age. His creativity was realised
early when selected as a young composer to
represent Ghana as part of cultural
ensemble at the Internation Year of the Chid world
conference in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1978.
In 1990, he released his first album,
No Mixing Console required.
Kobby also an experienced band leader and has
been involved in numerous groups and projects for
years.
He has been involved in numerous recording and
production efforts since then and is embarking
on a new and revived musical endevor.
His musical interests are mainly progressive jazz
and reggae, and is influenced by artists like as
Chick Corea, Ahmad Jahmal, Gonzalo Rubacalba,
Joe Sample, Art Tatum, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock,
Bob Marley, Culture, and Steel Pulse. |
