    Artist History
On September 26, 2000, Kevin released "Packaged To Play". A more "stripped-down" effort, Packaged To Play offers acoustic numbers ("Within These Elements", "This Is Now"), hard rock ("So I Can't Help But Feel Afraid", "Shackled"), melodic tunes ("I Know About Dreams", "Your Special Day") and more. After its release, Kevin played a string of dates in New York City and Long Island to support the album. He recently began work on his next album, hopefully to be released in early 2003.

    Press Reviews
"Make it through the first two tepid tracks on singer-songwriter Kevin Caffrey's recent disc and you'll be rewarded with a one-man rock-and-roll show. Listen to "Eternal Forever" & "This Is Now" if you must, but the action on "Packaged To Play" heats up beginning with the five-minute-long synth- and guitar-drenched "Shackled." From there, Caffrey gets evocative. "If my life were a song/ It would probably be so off-key," he sings on the beautiful and mysterious "I Know About Dreams." Then there's a British, new-wave feel to "So I Can't Help but Feel Afraid," thanks to the song's alternating driving and understated keyboards. The instrumental "Beautiful Lush" doesn't need words for anyone to drink in the almost classical-style guitar. Besides being a chameleon, Caffrey, the great white rasp of the South Shore, wrote, produced, and played all of the nine songs on "Packaged to Play." And from the sound of things, he's doing alright by himself." - Kevin Amorim, 6/14/01, Long Island Newsday's NightBeat
