Artist History Joseph Cron has been in the professional music business for over 25 years. He began in western Michigan at age 10, on the trumpet. Soon after, he expanded to piano, and keyboards eventually took over as his primary instrument. By age 16, he was performing in rock and jazz groups, on both piano and trumpet. In his early 20's (1979), Joseph bought a drum set, and took up percussion. He also learned some basic guitar work, and went electric with his keyboards, with a Wurlitzer electric piano and an early Korg synthesizer. Using a classic TEAC 3340 deck and a crude recording studio in the basement, he began developing recordings of original arrangements, while continuing to perform live, mostly with rock and country groups in the Detroit area.After moving to Dallas in 1981, Joseph spent the next few years mixing stage acting and keyboard performing in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, providing accompaniment and composing original music for various theatrical projects, while still supplementing with some solo club work on the side. In 1986, Joseph moved back to Michigan, where theatrical accompaniments provided an excellent arena for composing, arranging, directing, and performing music. Using newer synthesizer technologies, Joseph also became a specialist in recorded accompaniment scores, creating entire, performance-ready symphonic accompaniments for theatre with a synthesizer and computer. Now living in the Seattle area, Joseph has been able to spend a little more time applying his arranging and recording skills to developing his own songs.All in all, Joseph's career has encompassed both live and recorded performances on an impressive variety of instruments, playing in and composing for everything from wedding ceremonies to hard rock groups to theatrical orchestras to jazz bands of many types, including styles in jazz, pop, rock, country, Latin, classical, and mixtures of any and all of the above - an extremely well-developed musician
