Artist History
...So you're standing on a hill overlooking your town. Its some time past midnight, lights are going out one by one, the traffic streams slowly in every direction. Some hiphop beat floats like a warning, arriving from some massive stereo a couple of miles away and underneath it all the city hums, just like it always does...
Anyway, this band im a part of, Blood Music, we want you to listen to us. We are "going for it" so to speak, going where? The melodic blissout melting into a distorted roar, if you must know. We're folowing the smoketrails left behind by the first Verve album, Funkadelic's excursions on aversion, Bardo Ponds heavy machinery launching pad antics, and a gaggle of other references which would turn this intro into a book the size of Greenland.
The band has been together for three years, give or take. The original name was Watercolour Movement, with Keenan Gautier on bass, the we changed to the Suns when Shaun left. School, work and other musical projects conspired to break it all up circa mid 2001. All was quiet on the Saskatoon space rock scene until the fateful night in October 2002 when Do Make Say Think played Amigo's, prompting Chad, Jordan, Shaun and myself to get it together again. Charles was drafted in to replace Keenan, who is pursueing his teaching dreams way up in Yellowknife N.W.T. Many deafening jams later and here we are, ready to abuse eardrums and take it out, out there...
