Artist description
Dark, brooding alternative rock the way it should be - straight from the depths of Seattle's gothic underground. The Sins members' varied musical backgrounds (with influences ranging from Fields of the Nephilim and Mission UK to The Doors and Black Sabbath) shine through in the diversity of the tracks on this album, from the middle-east-influenced grooves of Ecstasy in Oblivion, to the old school punk sound of So Many Ways, to the classic goth-rock vibe of Little Girl Lost. The track "Angels" has already become a club favorite, spun by gothic/industrial DJs from coast to coast, as well as in the UK. |

Artist History
Formed in 2001, this relatively new band is already captivating its Seattle audiences with a dynamic stage presence, vigorous showmanship, and one of a kind songs, complete with the rare enchantment of electric violin. The Sins boldly pave their own musical path combining familiar sounds of gothic and punk scenes past with their own modern rock influences and ideas. What separates this band from so many others is cutting-edge diversity, which has enabled them to appeal to a broad and diverse audience base.

Press Reviews
"Here's a good pinch of influence from old-school bands like The Mission, Fields of the Nephilim and even The Cure, which all add to The Sins' dark, guitar-driven sound... However it's not all nostalgia as the five-piece combine the odd spot of contemporary programming, which lifts their music in to the 21st century, while "So Many Ways" carries a very heavy deathrock vibe. With songs as sleek and beautifully composed as this, it shouldn't be too long before these boys get snapped up and start playing gigs outside their home country." -- Natasha Scharf, Meltdown Magazine (UK), Issue #13 April 2003 |
