Artist description
The Lemon Brigade is the solo project of 17-year old Nick Wilson, who has recorded seven lo-fi albums in his bedroom on four track. His songs range in styles from indie jazz-rock to alt-country. Indeed, he is a Taoist vegetarian straightedge music geek who rebels against trendiness and capitalism and writes and records nearly a song a day. |

Artist History
Nick has been recording since the end of 1999. In the past year and a half, he has recorded five full length albums, and about eleven e.p.'s. The best of his earliest recordings were combined on the e.p. "Paper Airplane". The second e.p., was deservedly a failure. A slew of better, cassette-only e.p.'s followed soon afterwards including "Betty Crocker, "Burned Out", and "Weekend" contained into the compilation "Madrid". In November-January 2000, he recorded a first full-length "Slowsongs and Singalongs", 13 songs with a completely different and much better, catchier sound. This was followed by a series of full lengths and e.p.'s -- The 12-song "The Quiet is Collapsing" The 14-song "Sweep These Scattered Words" in April, followed by "Calculus" e.p in May. The latter two were later combined together. An 8 song almost full-length "Brainwashed by Stars" was coupled with the 6-song e.p. His four track then proceeded to break, and he stopped recording for a few months, instead turning attention to his newfound talent: playing guitar, drums, and singing at the same time. In October 2001, his four track was repaired, and he slowly returned to recording, producing an eight song
album titled "A Sob Broke Out On The Balcony" with a cool indie sound and dramatically improved songs. He has since begun to undertake his greatest offering yet. His next cd, entitled "Cacophony and Cadence" will be completed by mid-summer, and shows how he has overthrown the sound of everything he has ever done. From complex experipunk to slow brooding slowcore songs, Cacophony promises to be a lo-fi masterpiece. |
