Artist description
You could say the SERIAL POETS are a little angry. Of course, after listening to the quintet's music, you'd come to realize that it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure that out. Forged from a burgeoning Long Island underground scene in an effort to eradicate the plague-like infestation of cover bands and other musical abominations, SERIAL POETS combine the intensity of heavy music with the searingly-accurate lyrical commentary of old-school punk and hardcore. The result is, to say the least, invigorating, pure rock that demands your undivided attention and refuses to let go. |

Artist History
In its various incarnations, the SERIAL POETS have released three recordings to date. These include the three-song Live at the Glass Apple, and their sixteen-song DIY Epiphany, Vent (both recorded by Long Island's mad genius, Steven Sabella). Closing out this tumultuous trilogy is the band's latest opus, the five-song monster, Broken Nose.As in-your-face as its title implies, Broken Nose was recorded by Kevin Kelly at Late Nite Studios. Each song stands on its own as a testament to the band's limitless energy and ferocity. From the pounding bass and grinding riffs of the opening track, "Insect," to the cassette's haunting finale, "Phantom," each song is sure to stir up the deepest, and most primal of emotions. If the potent groove of "Severe" doesn't infect you like the Ebola virus, then there is something wrong...If the energy on Broken Nose is impressive, it pales in comparison to a live SERIAL POETS show, which must be experienced to be fully appreciated. When this five-man musical demolition team hits the stage with their patented bottomless pit of aggression, you can be damn sure that everyone will be thoroughly entertained - even the club owner, which is evidenced by the fact that the SERIAL POETS have never played a venue only once. |
