    Artist History
lure was formed in the Spring of 2000 when Edward (who had previously recorded with the Nymphs’ legendary Inger Lorre) sought to start a female fronted band with the power and dynamics of Jane’s Addiction. There were several false starts to this ambitious project. He was about to give up when he was given Alicia’s phone number by another singer. Alicia, who had been featured in videos and on tour with the likes of Tori Amos, the Goo Goo Dolls, Lenny Kravitz, and Enrique Iglecias, was perfect for the spot. They formed an instant bond with their mutual love for PJ Harvey, Jeff Buckley, and Radiohead. It also turned out that the whole time each were searching for that perfect musical situation, they had lived just a block away from one another. Serendipity in action. They immediately started writing, and entered the studio in 2001 with Brian Harden (Belly), and later with Steve Holroyd (AC/DC, Counting Crows). The resulting tracks are found on their 2002 release "in circles with obstacles." This disc illustrates the depth of their sound, and how a wide range of influences meld into a truly unique and moving artistic statement.

    Press Reviews
Music Connection Magazine-Vol.XXVI,No. 17 August 19 - September 1, 2002 "Prozac Nation" establishes the demo's soporific tone with a female vocal that effectively conveys a mood of darkness and foreboding not unlike PJ Harvey or Mazzy Star. "A Night Like This" is the pair's best, with structural dynamics and various vocal looks that rev things up well.
