Artist History Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band were the explosion in the Sixties British Soul Boom. Geno left the USA forces formed The Ram Jam Band and took Britain by Storm. Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band had two of the biggest selling albums of the 60's and both were recorded live! The classic "Hand Clappin, Foot Stompin, Funky Butt Live" was in the album charts for 48 weeks in 1966, only to be outsold by "The Sound Of Music" and "Bridge Over Troubled Waters", not bad eh? Geno's Energy and those of his contemporaries fuelled the Northern Soul movement, and movement was what was going on, in Dance Halls and record hops all over Britain. This energy and Geno's prowess were lifted into the realms of legend when Dexies Midnight Runners stormed the charts with the epochal hit, "GENO" confirming Geno Washington's favoured status with artists and audience alike. Then came a period Geno turned his back on his success but never on his music, following a near disastrous sortie into The USA, he was invited to perform and record in the States by the Beach Boys. He arrived unfortunately into the madness of a band recording an album through their solicitors and refusing to speak to each other. What seemed like a dream move turned into The Rock and Roll nightmare. Resulting in Geno retired from the glare of the celebrity goldfish bowl, and spending several years studying hypnotherapy, using the technique extensively on his own healing process. Geno returned but with a new drive and passion formed from an understanding of despair and a confidence in his ability to transform despair into hope, through love and on into confidence. He now set about relating this experience and helping other people apply his self hypnothereputic techniques to conquer their own obstacles which where sapping their personal motivation.
