Artist History
In 1995, a group of actors from New York were cast in a film to be shot in the Philippines. Spending two months filming in and around the island of Cebu, many of these actors became friends for life. Upon their return to New York two of these actors, Mike Boland and Gus Scharr, began writing songs together. In need of a guitar player they recruited Patrick Chapman (another actor in the film). It was then that the group Cebu was born. Performing as a three-man band, Cebu was making good music but there was a missing ingredient. This missing ingredient took the form of Anthony Callarota. With his bass and lead guitar, Cebu was finally complete. Based in New York City and playing "anywhere and everywhere, in and around town", Cebu has been pushing to make their mark on the music scene. Since their first performance on Halloween night in 1996, they have developed a following of die-hard music fans growing larger with every gig. Cebu can not only rock and roll, they can get you all choked up with a love song too. "We like to hit the crowd with a few rockers when we start our sets, let them feel our energy on our most physical level. Then we give them our love ballads. We keep that rollercoaster feeling going until finally, we finish off back on that rockin' plain. We enjoy the act of creating a rock n' roll catharsis for our audiences". |
