Press Reviews
The Rudy Huxtable Project, With Demonstrative Objectives (Out of Touch) With Demonstrative Objectives starts out like a magical fairy tale and quickly transforms into a flood of fiery passion with "White Coat Hypertension." Albert Lionais, Nathan Richards, and Morgan Currie are ripping shit up in the shadow of their industrial Cape Breton backdrop. Whether they know it or not, the three are making a healthy contribution to the evolution of indie rock and they're out-lapping many of the country's cookie cutter punk outfits, bands which lack more than just a cohesive vision. The Rudy Huxtable Project's tonal manipulation on With Demonstrative Objectives is not to be digested lightly. It makes for an experience that will grow and change colour as you familiarize yourself with it. It's a record that would fit nicely on the Matlock Records release grid. It may be roughly recorded in lo-fi conditions, but with a name like The Rudy Huxtable Project, at least you won't soon forget it.---Iain K. MacLeod |
