Artist description
The Marazene Heartbeat Clock is a music project that doesn't easily fit into a particular genre.Moments of brilliance, inspired by the legendary sounds of The Replacements, Built to Spill, and Sonic Youth(to name a very few) heavily puncuate the melodic, sometimes, eerie songs. Comprised of four young musicians from Eagle River, Alaska, The Marazene Heartbeat Clock has the potential to breath new life into an industry sadly benton making top 40 hit singles. |

Artist History
Formed in June of 2000, the original lineup was Bret Phillips(vocals, guitars), Shaye Straw(bass, keyboards, back-up vocals)and Dirk Jewitt(percussion). In July, the trio enlisted Steve Macsurak(guitars, bass). Bret, Shaye and Dirk had already played together, over the years, in the bands, Johnny Spenard and Lampshade. Going further back, Bret and Dirk were the founders of The Field and, the legendary in its own right, Sound and the Fury. All of this experience has led to a polished sound without being overly "mainstream"and retaining a raw appeal. |
