Artist description I am ippy jar. Born in the UK under the star sign "Apis". I am not a vegetarian, although i can quite happily skin a spud. Originally a keyboard player(age seven) and then a bass player (age eleven), i graduated to the world of electronic music (age !^"****) in the late 90s when an old booomer lent me a monitor to go with an ST i found cheap at a market.The new age had dawned, and the world of a floppy was upon me. Although having the experience of playing live many times before, i found it strange performing for the first time with just a computer. Infact i used a boss dr 550, yam cx5mII/128, a tape player with speed control, strange noises that i taped from everywhere and everyone and a yam keyboard along with the Atari. I praise thee oh great lender of these things.I don't praise thee oh music teacher for rulering me at school for not playing the piano in the morning assemblly. I remmember this well.

Music Style Although drum and bass in its bare form, i have tried to install an element of jungle. It gives it a raw sound and more of a tribal feel. It seems to go down well with the natives here at home, i can sometimes hear them banging away, sadly not in time.

Musical Influences Outdoor festivals in general and white labels. This is the essence of what has become my direction. I would have to mention early goldie and aphrodite if i was to true to form, although strictly speaking, drum and bass in the uk has allways had a rough time and stayed mostly undergroud. Transglobal underground,zion train,suns of arqua and dreadzone were a cultural experience and taught me that there can be a fusion of reggae, d+b and techno in this musical bonanza. Very early influences would have to be a good solid foundation of progressive rock and heavy metal, mostly uk, and of course what would my child hood have been like without crass, members,subs,clash, "the uk punk scene". Saying all that! Elvis, as i lay in the womb of the magdalene.
