Artist History
FMA is a five piece indie-rock/ alternative band from Mobile, AL. The band has a driving, energetic sound, defined by powerful songwriting and musicianship.' FMA's music is a startling blend of melody and intensity. The members of FMA have been involved in musical projects ranging from jazz to metal, and they each bring something unique to the band's sound. Steve (guitarist) and Jason (drummer) have been playing together since they learned how to play, in 1994. Vocalist Chris Cole met the two of them in 1996, and they started a band called Feeble Minded Aggression (later shortened to simply FMA; that's all, FMA; it no longer stands for anything). Clay joined in May 1998, and JD joined in September 2000, bringing the band to its current 5-piece status. FMA has played all manner of venues in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida, from clubs to festivals, with local, regional, and national acts, as well as received some commercial radio-play on the Gulf Coast. This June, the band bested a field of 48 bands in Biloxi, MS, to take home first place in the Kirk's House of Rock Battle of the Bands. FMA currently has one self-produced, full-length album available (Fermium Ampere, 1999), as well as a brand new demo featuring the three songs Mistreated, To Be Alone, and Junkie. |
