    Artist description
It is a wellknown fact in the various and multifarious subgenres of what is commonly known as underground music that most often the bands that are a tough bit in the beginning end up as some of one's most dearly held acts - or, depending on the people in question, one's best kept secrets. The enigmatic aura of, for instance, Fields of the Nephilim or Arcturus may seem hard - if not impossible - to penetrate at first listen, yet eventually the music has left the listener in an unquenchable thirst for more. It is the thrill of discovery that makes us come back for yet another taste of the forbidden fruit, enrapturing us, grasping us; for the discerning listener these groups that have more substance to themselves than what may be scraped off the surface are the nectar of life. One such act is Echo Ad Infinitum. Their basis may lie upon the heritage of artists such as Black Sabbath, Ulver, Massive Attack and Arcturus, but over the course of their existence they have aspired from what was heavily influenced by the aforementioned groups to what was, and still is inspired by them, yet now reaching a totally new colour in the spectre - from total darkness into the halo of the sun - yet still maintaing that certain dark edge that gives their music a nice [if that word can be applied in such a case as this] touch of tragedy. The music of Echo Ad Infinitum holds within what still continues to affect all people on earth - the power of emotions, the flow of feelings that we all enjoy and endure. This is music to appease the more discerning of tastes - thoughtful and concentrated listening recommended.
    Music Style
Progressive and experimental atmospherics with widely varying influences incorporated into what may be considered a mix of metal, gothic, industrial and perhaps a hint of trip-hop.
    Musical Influences
Black Sabbath, Arcturus, Massive Attack, Mogwai, Ulver, Mayhem, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Brendan Perry, Leonard Cohen, Aphrodisiac, Photek and Fleshquartet, to name but a few.
    Similar Artists
Post-black metal Ulver, Massive Attack (yet only occasionally). A fact of a rather noteworthy and hilarious nature is that quite a few people have voiced the vocals' likeness to Marilyn Manson...
    Artist History
Created in early 2000 by the founder member of progressive/atmospheric metal act Thus Perish, H. Mutanen, Echo Ad Infinitum was initially known as Embryo, the Echo Ad Infinitum of today being at that time uniform and in unison with the drum 'n bass alter ego bearing the same name.Given the interest towards creating psychotic and diverse drum 'n bass begun to wane considerably after creating "Plastic deity" and "Liniment for the soul", H. Mutanen decided to embark upon a style with more hidden intricacies and well-woven atmospherics. Throwing one's basic preconceptions as to how musical styles should be defined and refined was the course of event that lead into the creation of what may now be witnessed; the birth of a new musical style, undefinable, yet immensely grasping and impressive.
    Group Members
    H. Mutanen being the focal point and creative center of Echo Ad Infinitum, his tasks in the studio enviroment naturally surpass in number those of others affiliated with EAI. Other musicians are, however, being incorporated into the band at this very moment in order to facilitate the performance regarding such areas as vocals and drums. Additions to the lineup will be posted here as soon as confirmations have been given.
    Instruments
Guitar, vocals, signal generator, bass, programming, drums, synths, sampling and a variety of gadgets to create sound, as well as an oscilloscope to make things look good.
