The contemporary folk singer/songwriter’s ecospiritual leanings, dazzling guitar work and dynamic stage presence further enhance his entertaining, uplifting performances.Audiences seem to especially enjoy BenJammin's ballads, with their evocative melodies, hauntingly beautiful chord progressions and intelligent, heartfelt lyrics. He's getting official recognition, too -- "Shining From Inside", co-written with Deanna Lane, won first place in a recent song contest. Originally a classical guitarist -- he gave world premiere performances at two national guitar symposiums -- BenJammin' now brings his advanced fingerstyle technique to steel strings. But he's no traditionalist -- he spices his guitar work with altered tunings, partial capoing, strumming, slapping and guitar-drumming. His songwriting is also eclectic, with stylistic flavors ranging from folk, classical, Broadway and pop to New Age, Middle Eastern, Celtic and jazz.

Artist History BenJammin' is currently recording his first contemporary folk CD, which should be available Spring 2002. His first recording, The Beauty Within, is still available on CD and cassette. Just don't expect it be anything like what he's doing now! An album of "deeply peaceful, gently uplifting electronic music", it has no guitar parts or vocals. Released in 1994, it received rave reviews in the New Age press and was picked up by the major New Age Music distributors. The Beauty Within has practical benefits, too: many listeners have reported that it has a pronounced calming effect on rambunctious children, nervous pets and cranky spouses! BenJammin' recently relocated from Oklahoma City to Asheville, NC. He is a full-time singer/songwriter.
