Artist History
From the bowels of the earth, brandishing guitars of pure magma and drums of solid Arizonium, the August Teens arose in Madison, WI, in a blinding flash of azure light! Their mission: to rock you until your socks slide off of your feet, shoot through the soles of your shoes, and fly diagonally upwards, penetrating the ceiling of the building in which you are standing and rocketing like guided missiles directly into outer space! After months of training, and having been exiled by Grel-nak, Grand Overlord of SuperDoom, from several practice spaces, the August Teens busted loose in January of 2001 in a power-packed SuperShow that featured three bands who shared August Teens members: The Clones, Yellow Five, and Der. The 'Teens encountered difficulty in finding playable venues in self-righteous Madison, WI, and hindered by the injuries of two members, the band's future -- indeed, the future of all AugustTeenkind -- looked grim. But now, healed by Texcalibastur, Axe of Infinite Rocktasticity, the band has become powerful enough to rock tall buildings in a single bound. Look for them around town, and throughout the universe! |

Press Reviews
Strap, String, and Pickup - Decembuary 1945 issue: "Though the musical ensemble known as the 'August Teens' does not yet exist, in the year 2000, they will form in a midwestern city, bringing new songs to tired ears and making a short-lasting impression on the local music scene! Their debut album will be called 'Versus Dinosaurs' and feature an eighty-five-minute ballad which bemoans the losses of the 1982 Dinosaur War, in which humans will battle against the ghosts of evil robot dinosaurs from the future. The band will rock all seven continents simultaneously with the first-ever outer-space show, performing vivacious arrangements of old Irish folk tunes from the surface of the sun. Sadly, the group will disband after a quarrel over their final album, "Breaking Plates and Making Wishes", leaving the resonating echo of strummed strings in their wake." -- Betty Alabaster, Prof. of Velcrometry & Linguistics, University of Nebraska at Chalupa |
