Artist description
Shoemaker Levy 9 was formed during the late 1990's in Southern California by Jerry de los Rios. The bands dynamic, hard-rock style is a fusion of powerful, guitar compositions interwoven into melodic tapestries.
Jerry's songwriting results in a cohesive sound that illustrates Shoemaker Levy 9's dynamic musical range. The band combines introspective lyrics and soulful guitar based tapestries contrasted with brooding bass lines. The chemistry between the wicked guitar licks, and percussive blend of contagious tribal rhythms and heavy progressive beats provides a perfect canvass for the emotional lyrics as they seamlessly glide through the music with infectious verses leading into unforgettable hooks in the chorus.
The bands single, "Not a Trace", is a sincere lyrical exploration into an intimate relationship, complimented by soulfully, marrying acoustic and electric arpeggiated rhythms. "I'm Alive", which begins in a dark, sensual mood and culminates in a highly charged chorus accompanied by unharnessed rhythms in the background, seer through with savage riffary.
A five-song EP is currently available from Shoemaker Levy 9.
Shoemaker Levy 9 takes a no-holds-barred approach to composition and style. Their staunch respect for the integrity of music undoubtedly accounts for the overall consistent intensity in their live shows, sound and priding themselves on musical vision and continuing on the paths set by their visionary musical influences.
