    Artist History
PSRM was formed in 1992 after the breakup of the Aaron Stryker Quartet. D.J. ZuLu, bored with the band's rehersal, designed a band logo and said to us "you should go make some old school rap music and quit this garage band scene". So, Dr. Jako and P-Dog took their Tascam Porta-05 down to Telstar Studios, and using an Akai S900, a Fender Bass, a Farfisa Combo Compact, and the studio telephone, created "C.O.D". We can't post the tracks from "C.O.D" because they feature too much unlicenced sampling. The same goes for the next PSRM release, "Hot Snowp". For "Hot Snowp", the sample set used for backing tracks expanded into Disco and 70's Classic Rock breakbeats, and SKOG was recruited to provide jazzy guitar riffs. The team was now recording on a Tascam 488 8-track. That was in '93. In '94, using a DR-660, Casio HT-700, and a strat copy with EMGs, P-Dog constructed the tracks for "Pympin' Tha World", the third PSRM album. This time, there were no samples and ICEPIK was featured on all album tracks, rather than just a few, as was the case with "Hot Snowp". P-Dog and Dr. Jako decided the sound was too electronic, so they started using Bass, Guitar, and an AKAI AX80 to augment some more natural sounding drum tracks from the DR-660. The vocals for these tracks was never recorded, and the tape masters for the instrumentals are now gone. In late 2000, P-Dog decided to make use of the lyrics he had written for the 4th PSRM album (tentatively titled "3rd Floor"). Released early Q2 2001, the next batch of tracks includes 5 cuts that were created with more modern instrumentation and better recording equipment. Now that the original members of PSRM are scattered to the 4 winds, and no more original lyrics remain, what does the future hold for PSRM? Only time will tell.
