Artist History Mellow 57 first started off in the winter of 1997. They had a rapper for a singer and a drummer who never practiced. Well Josh (co-founder, guitar, vocals) and Andre (co-founder, bass, vocals) decided to let it slip. Then the drummer, Kelly Hirtle, mentioned one kick ass guitarist he knew about and his name was Brad Nichols. Although they did not think the band would stay together for a while things had changed. Their singer, Rayner Craig, said screw this and quit the band, and were on the lookout for another singer. At this period of time the guys were going through their stages of playing punk or metal. Then they chose the most dominant one. It was PUNK.Now they were on a role, playing their original songs and all. But something was still not right. Andre, Brad, and Josh thought that they weren’t practicing a lot. They had to do something. They had told Kelly their problem and he took some action. Kelly quit and Mellow 57 had to look for another drummer. At this stage they thought they were screwed. No drummer and no singer. What the hell are we going to do? They then looked to Josh. They knew he was the back up singer so they thought let us try him out. It was fantastic. Josh had a great voice. So then they had to do some dirty work. They made flyers and posted them everywhere. There still were no calls for a drummer. Until they cam across a guy by the name of Morgan Donaldson.Morgan was the perfect person to fix the band up. They asked him to try out and he said sure! That day was the best day of their lives. "We got a drummer!" what more could they ask for. They got so good they thought about recording a CD. So they found out about a guy who does recording and they hit the jackpot! This guy was so good he did it for nothing! They then got their CD all done and sold many, many copies.
