Artist History
Marco started playing guitar at age ten and got into singing and songwriting along the way. His constant need for fresh input and the desire to learn more has led him through most music styles, from 13th century Italian dance tunes to Bob Dylan to cutting edge hip-hop, which he incorporates into his own style. He labels his music as “indie folk hip-hop”. His career high points so far include having a one hour show on The New York Times’ radio station built around his music, playing for Pavement and making $23.79 for one song in the subway. He was born in Chicago, grew up in the Swiss mountains and currently lives in Brooklyn. He also builds mobiles and likes to draw. |

Press Reviews
“Positive spin” - WQXR (station of The New York Times)
“He’s got a voice … listen to the way he sings … wow… your songs are … I mean this is your song? You wrote this? You didn’t find it in a bottle or someplace? … I sure hope the prop has that on tape – That was gorgeous … People who know the scene and know something about music wanna be surprised by something like you, new and exciting, interesting and somebody who’s been around … as people are being loaded into trains they’re afraid to look up. They don’t want you to be so free. And there are other people who don’t want you to be so free a lot more than that. The people who think they run things … our only hope as we go into the 21st century” - Bob Fass “Radio Unnamable” WBAI NYC
“Where do you go for all those ideas?” - Marc Barkan, songwriter for Elvis
