Artist description
5 guys, doing the thing they love the most... playing together but sadly still within the surroundings of 4 walls. The time's right to get out of the 3x3 closet and on stage.Innerstorm does not play covers. Their work can be described as a mix of progressive riffs and varying rhythms combined with symphonic and melodic parts. Despite the fact that there might be room for technical improvement, the music has a powerful drive and a lot of passion, making it easy to digest for both experienced and inexperienced listeners of the ’harder rock’ style. |

Artist History
A storm was raging during the fall of 1998. In The Hague, Marco Stiegelis (guitars) and Nils Vermeire (keyboards) founded the band Innerstorm. Olav Dijker was asked to buy a bassguitar and join the band. The first rehearsal made clear that the chosen path was the right one. At that time, Dennis Gout (drums) and Sylvester Vogelenzang de Jong (guitars) completed the line-up. The reception of a strange radioshow on the bass-amplifier, probably Ridderkerk FM, made the band decide to relocate. Thanks to a suggestion from a friend, the quintet left for Ridderkerk and slowly but surely they made their ’home’ at Get Rhythm. After the first month of 1999 Marco, Nils and Olav were the only ones left, but they kept their music going aided by a groovebox.A good friend, Vasco Ogier, showed a lot of interest in the band’s music and he possessed some great vocal skills. After a couple of tryouts Vasco was welcomed by the band and suddenly Innerstorm had a voice. Drummer Sebastian Bruijniks joined the band soon after Vasco and banished the static beats of the groovebox to oblivion. The final part of 1999 brought the end of Vasco’s singing career. Due to mutual differences, a great friendship was about to turn ugly. The band intervened and decided to look for a replacement for Vasco. In January 2000, Christiaan van der Valk appeared to be the right person for the job, but after a month and a half he decided to quit and devote his time to another band. Innerstorm remained speechless until the end of the year 2000. In order to record a demo with vocals, they asked a friend, Dimitri Vlaanderen, to join for a couple of weeks. Only two rehearsals later it became clear that Dim was going to be the man behind the mic and not only for the demo. |
