Underfoot Zine Band of the Month for November 2001: Used Goods Used Goods are a quartet of snot-nosed, bondage pants donning, political anarcho crust punks, who have been known to burn flags on stage and incite near riots during their live performances. Well…not really. In reality, the four lads (all from Ft. Lauderdale and 21 years old) play a fan friendly, dangerously catchy brand of pop-punk, similar to that of groups like Yellowcard, and hometown heroes New Found Glory. Despite the common biased many scenesters may carry when dealing with pop-punk bands, ("they're sooo gay"), Used Goods must be doing something right as the future is looking mighty bright for them. Along with recently joining the roster of Los Angeles based indie label 99Cent Records; Used Goods will also be re-releasing their debut E.P., "The Truth Behind Nothing", as a limited edition. The boys will have plenty of time to sell those discs as in February they will be touring the West Coast, specifically California. The band's local fan base is a healthy one, and their first single "Sometimes" is a regular on numerous College Radio stations throughout the sunshine state. It's not uncommon to spot one of their signature tee's being worn at a local show, and they even have enough supporters to organize a full-fledged street team. Say what you will about pop-punk, but PLEASE give Used Goods credit for playing fun music, being the success magnets that they are, and having a kick ass time all the while. Despite undoubtedly NOT being "more punk than you," Used Goods are still a great band and we at Underfoot Records salute them. -Matt Preira
