Artist History
Sketch D is actually deceased! He was killed in the Twin Towers (Sketch D aka David Donopolous believed to be in Tower 2 on Sept 11 last spotted on the observatory deck) All of his finances have been taken over by David Harry Rosenberg esquire, who is also a rock artist--soon to be available on ampcast. So who was Sketch D? Sketch D was half black, half white. He grew up in various parts of NY, California, and Miami (his father, being employed by the United States Military on secret co-op missions was forced to move around alot) These different regions that carry different cultures took an effect on David's piano playing. Donopolous had piano lessons since the age of four. He immediately began writing and performing his original tunes at his daycamp, school, and at family get togethers. Original songwriting came easy to David, who joined his first Rock group, "Silver Bullet" in the sixth grade. He was then playing keyboards and doing some back up, occasional lead vocals. At some point after the brake up of "Silver Bullet", legend holds that Donopolous picked up the bass guitar by teaching himself and learned to master the art of guitar playing by copying band members of his next rock venture, the Long Island Oldies/originals cover band "The Clams"--the group that cut an unsuccessful record at Megratrax Studio Productions. Throughout all these lineups (The group would change several drummers and bass guitar players through Donopolous's high school career---the group eventually taking on the name "Davey and the Clams), David was lead singer--as well as piano/rythymn guitar player and co-original songwriter. The band was spotted several times during performances at Jericho High School and at The Aids Awareness Benefit Concert (both held in Jericho, NY) In high school, Donopolous was placed in Advanced Chorus and achieved a multi faceted array of Music Achievement Awards. Later on he would teach himself the harmonica, bass guitar, violin, and drums. But when did David Donopolous, the musician, become Sketch D (a.k.a. Sketchy D), the rapper. Legend has it that he (similar to the fate of the late great blues guitarist Robert Johnson) sold his soul to the devil (a.k.a. a crack head who laced a blunt and passed it to, who he named, "Sketch" cause the smoker couldnt tell if David was white or black) behind of Ben's Kosher Deli in Greenvale, NY. In return, the legend goes, the devil taught him how to freestyle--and the rest is history. He combined his unique songwriting skills together with his singing voice and newly adapted freestyling abilities. Anyway, without further adue, here is Sketch D aka David Donopolous. He was very talented: He plays all guitars, pianos, keyboards, harmonica, bass, everything. He mastered all the tracks, wrote all the beats, did everything. On the d.l., I , David Harry Rosenberg esq, have power of attorney over Sketch D's financial (including musical) assets. In otherwords, not to worry. I have enough Sketch D material to keep me busy for the rest of my life. Sketch was a very hard worker. He had his own studio and recorded constantly (I have over five thousand minutes of un released rhymes, guitar excerpts, piano solos, and drum takes) I knew him very well and I know what he would of wanted. As for performances, I think I may play his part on stage ( I used to cover for him all the time when he was too fucked up to go on stage) I was also thinking of contacting his twin brother, Don Donopolous, who is a successful video editor, with a great voice. Sketch had also taught him how to freestyle (in exchange, Don taught Dave important film making techniquies involving the camera, lighting, and sound editing) Anyway, enjoy this suburbanite rapper who has been regarded as "... hip hop's first, and only, Andy Kaufman meets Phil Spector in one!" -Chuck D. of the famous Hip Hop group Public Enemy

-David Harry Rosenberg 2001
MC SKETCH D is aka Sketch D aka DJ Jazzy Jew aka Mellow D aka David Harry Rosenberg (the former being the artist's real name!) Rosenberg started off his music career early when he learned how to play the piano at the ripe age of four years. By the time he was 13, David had taught himself the guitar, drums, harmonica, and up-right bass. On his 16th birthday, his then band, The Clams (David Harry Rosenberg lead vocals/back up vocals/ryhtmn guitarist/keyboardist, Brandon Clark lead guitar/back up vocals/some lead vocals/saxophone, Chris Crocetti bass guitar, and young Jimmy Collins on percussian) performed at David's house in Melville. There are rumors now surfacing that an original video recording of this concert has resurfaced somewhere in thailand so keep checkin the site as I may get my hands on it! ANYWAY, David soon moved away from that house with the party at it and the band would lose the bass guitaris and switch drummers. However, through the birthday concert, the Aids Awareness Concert on Long Island, and performances at Rosenberg's sister's bat mitzvah-David was able to muster up enough cash from investors to cut a four record deal with Megatrax studios (which was disbanded in 2000 by ceo Jeff Shapiro, who engineered the demo track for Rosenberg) David stepped up and played bass when Chris left before recordings started and Jimmy only played drums on two tracks. When Brandon left the group, David was heartbroken--a best friend and co-author (the two wrote "When Davey Was A Young Boy" together)refused to record further. Step in Al Pitrelli (now guitarist from Megadeth, was in Asia, Great White, Scorpions, Alice Cooper and Savatage)who played guitar on Never ( a Rosenberg original ) David covered all other instruments with the exception of drums. On his arrival to the University of Miami, Rosenberg made several attempts at recording comedy style hip hop routines on his fraternity, Zeta Beta Tau at the University of Miami, home albumns at the end of the year. It was here that David began to build a studio of his own and recorded daily. Among some of the artists to stop by David's studio in Miami, Florida during his 1997-2001 four year stint at school was DJ Khaled (of the Arab Attack, 99.1 Jams Miami, 96.1) Cuban Linx (yes, the famous rapper), Sanga frum Uganda, Darkskin Marksman, White Russian, and many other young hip hop artists. Now David is in lawschool and rumor has it that he is writing some type of a musical or broadway play (David graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Political Science and Video/Film). He has since released several successful rock n roll doo wop with a hip hop feel sounding pop tunes such as Freddy Ferry and the Fab 4 and In My Car. I will keep u updated on upcoming changes and events.
