Artist description I am a junior music education major at the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York at Potsdam. Though I have a strong desire to teach and share music with all people, my true passion lies in writing music. I plan to incorporate all these things together- to teach through composition and make music available to all people. Future plans include studies of deaf culture and communication in order to establish a foundation which I can build to create a new genre of art that I call Tactile Music.

Music Style Contemporary Classical

Artist History As a young composer, there is not much of a past to tell. I started playing trombone when I was eight years old. Once I reached high school I began to experiment with other brass and stringed instruments until I had a good understanding of each family. At the same time, I started writing music without instruction, and without any intent on any of it ever being performed. This portfolio still exists, and someday may be revised by a more focused composer. I currently am studying the bass trombone with Mark Hartman, and composition with David Heinick at the Crane School of Music. The music posted on this page reflects some of my work as a college freshman, sophomore, and junior.

Group Members All pieces and songs are written by Ryan Mix. Special thanks go out to the performers- mostly my friends that get suckered into playing my music. Credits are indicated for each track.
