Artist History
Patton's history of performance and songwriting stretches back to the late eighties,as part of the wonderfully eclectic Blue Blazes, who, as openers for the Indigo Girls, Michelle Malone, Mr. Crowes Garden, as well as regulars at The White Dot and Avondale Towne Cinema, had some moderate success in Atlanta and the Southeast. Bolstered by the strong songwriting team of Mac Collins and Reggie Blaess (now of Beets Working),Blue Blazes had a niche all their own of guitar-driven, spontaneous combustion, a decade ahead of its time. Patton teamed with Blaess through the mid-nineties, crafting more Southern/Americana leanings, and now are presenting their own blend of sound once again..On "One More Day", the band stretches out as Patton grips love and loss close to the bone. Some hope, some regret, some riddance, the follow-up to "Pulling the Weeds" is apparently "only the beginning". |
