    Artist History
The Interstellars, from Charlotte, NC, have ambitiously advanced the cause of modern rock since their 1999 debut "River Euphrates," appearing on the LifeLike Records tribute to The Pixies: "Pixies F**kin' Die!" Originally a studio project building from loops and samples, The Interstellars have morphed into a live band with a totally unique sound, featuring drums/percussion, guitar, bass, saxophone, flute, keyboards, and vocals. With help from visual fx artist Karen Kirby, aka wholegraingoodness, The Interstellars create an engaging multimedia presentation that consistently amazes audiences with its power, emotional dynamics, and sheer audio/visual intensity. The Interstellars' first two releases, "This Close To Venus E.P." and "Echoes E.P." showcase the band's roots in incidental music, psychedelic rock, sampling, and electronica. 2001 brought The Interstellars two more releases: the "Know By Touching E.P." and the "Daydreaming" CD5, revealing the band's knack for inventive songwriting, creative studio production, and seemingly effortless induction of altered states. The Interstellars are constantly attracting new fans, as evident in their inclusion of Conduit's "Echoes" remix "Leggo My Echoes" on the "Listen N.U.D.E." trance compilation. "Digital Dogs", an upcoming independent film, will feature two tracks from The Interstellars as well. The Interstellars plan to continue the only way they know how: constant writing, recording, live shows, and grassroots promotion throughout North America and Europe.
