Artist History
Failing English was formed in the cold, boring January of 2000 in St. Louis, MO. Through hardships unnumbered, they have forged their own unique sound, which is just familiar enough to maintain it’s pop sensibility while pushing the stylistic envelope. Blending influences from Weezer to Green Day, or as diverse as from power pop to new metal, Failing English has truly found its niche among today’s popular musical acts.
Through recording sessions at the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, OH with Matt Curry, at Penny Studios in St. Louis, MO with Chris Deckard, and Jupiter Studios with Jim Callahan Failing English has put together their first demo/EP and is currently in search of a record label to produce and release their, already written, debut album. Curry is best known for his role as Assistant Engineer on Metallica’s 1996, Load album. He has also worked with Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Ozzy Osbourne during his time at Right Track Studios in New York.
With their powerful four-piece “family” mentality Failing English has built a strong unit that has endured the loss of friends, family, and opportunity. The band has seen its way through many difficulties including broken equipment, loss of transportation, and loss of rehearsal spaces. Through all of this the band has persevered, is stronger than ever, and ready to pass its musical vision on to the rest of the world.
