    Artist History
7BN first began on June 1, 1999 with a multitude of members, 90% of which had no musical talent whatsoever (myself included). Granted, we were in sixth grade, so there wasn't a hell of a lot to expect. The initial intention of forming the band was to just make funny songs about idiotic topics. (Who could forget the instant, classic hit, "Chicken Fried Rice"?) Moving right along, about two years later, we changed our style, to a more "streetpunk/hardcore" sound, or so we called it back then. Our lyrics soon began to deal with topics beyond foods (like "Chicken Fried Rice"), rather topics that really affect the world; the World Bank, the death penalty, homophobia, and so on. On April 9, 2003, we once again changed our direction. Playing three chords over and over again was doing a disservice to our musical potential. Our attempt for creating beautiful music, which has hitherto been a weak effort, is done through multiple mediums. Additionally, we try our best to break convential musical boundaries. This is naturally a direct result of our multifarious musical tastes and influences. For example, the three of us collectively enjoy everything from Duke Ellington to J.S. Bach to Outkast to Refused. Our songwriting has continued to avoid dealing with the inconsequential matters of everyday life. Instead, they artistically expose and express the entire spectrum of human behaivor. This can be best shown in our song "Gordian Knot," which epitomizes such a notion; the song is a constant battle between emotions, moments, and individuals. Our lyrics nowadays are written in a far more surrealistic fashion; allowing not only visions of ours to be manifested into song, but to have those visions possess an utter profoundness which further contributes to our work of art.
