Artist description
Torke. Pittsburgh, PA. Hottest new band to go against the grain of Pittsburgh "rock". Torke. blends to perfection 'the energy of Korn with the smoothness of Tool'. There is no other way to put it - if you love Tool/ Deftones, you'll love Torke. Hear a full length version of 'My Dawg', off their first CD, 'Synthetic Smiles'...order the cd from mp3 & you won't be disappointed! |

Artist History
The band started out in 1995 with a different lead singer & went by the name of Beyond Frustration. After the singer was arrested for bringing a bomb to school the band went on an extended leave of absence till his release. The time was well spent by each one perfecting their style. But shortly after they regrouped the singer was arrested again for 'borrowing' a car & totaling it...yes, the name 'Beyond Frustration' proved appropriate. J. took over the singing & Wayno came aboard to replace J. at bass...the sound took off & now we remember it as the time Torke. was born out of Pittsburgh. Their first CD called Synthetic Smiles was released early 1998 and the band is currently working on their second CD due out early 2000. |
