Artist description
With a band name taken from a local barber who only stops shaking when his scissors
come in contact with a head of hair, and a setlist of all original songs written in the keys
of life, love, and the pursuit of something no one can quite get a grasp on, SHAKEY
TOLL is definately not your average Appalachian area band.

Artist History
Formed by Mike Bertram (drums and percussion) and Jeremy Miller (guitars and
lead vocals) in the winter of 1996, the two quickly became a solid songwriting duo, with
Bertram penning the well thought out lyrics, as Miller developed the sound canvas on which to paint their picture of life as seen through the eyes of the TOLL. After a period of captivity in a lonely Kentucky coal shed, the duo began to search the
area for another pair of musicians who shared their musical thoughts and ideas. After going through a few musicians who had no clue as to the TOLL way of thinking,
bassist/keyboardist Roger Bivens, along with lead guitarist Jeff Lawson were added to solidify the SHAKEY line-up.
