Artist History
Female vocals backed by hard melodic guitar licks, thick bass riffs and driving drums, Glassoline has a big, no, a huge sounds that rocks. There is always excitement when Glassoline performs: its dynamic, energetic, it draws you in, leaving the audience wanting more.
Glassoline was formed in 1996 by rhythm section Vernon Hawkins (bass) and John Hage (drums) both formerly of Party Akimbo. Glassoline performs throughout the Mid-Atlantic area (New York to Richmond, VA) with radio airplay that extends to Canada, Europe, UK, Australia, and Asia. Glassoline has perfomed at major festivals including Lilith Fair '98, IMF in NYC, Route 1 South Festival in Richmond VA, WAMA Jam and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
In the Spring of 2000, Glassoline introduced new vocalist Jessi Lee a model and former member of the Washington Ballet. In the Fall of 2000, Glassoline appeared on the Walking On Pennsylvania Avenue compilation CD along with Grammy nominees Deep Dish and other members of the DC music community to benefit Metro TeenAids. In addition, the band released their second CD, Cellophane which continues to receive outstanding reviews from local and international press.
In the Spring of 2001, Glassoline welcomed Matt Perlick on guitar. The Upstate New York natives hard rocking style brings a new creative energy to Glassoline which is evident in their live performances.
