Artist description
Hard pop trio incorporating traditional line up of guitars bass and drums augmented with live strings, samples, spoken word, etc.Dollhouse is an artifice, a confection, a creation designed and made perfect for viewing by invitation only. The Dollhouse is a perfect world where everything is ordered and set in place. Furniture is bought and made to scale, clothes are made for the characters who inhabit each room. Stories can be told about these people. The characters and their lives can change dramatically inside the macro-verse. And importantly, everything inside the Dollhouse can be taken down, rebuilt and reorganised at will. The Dollhouse is a laboratory for experimentation where rules can be made and broken. In many ways the Dollhouse is the perfect place to create music. It is transient and ultimately it can be pointless. But sometimes, if we are lucky, the characters and the rooms can have lives of their own. Some of the material that Dollhouse has produced is already beginning to do this. We create material and send it out into the world like paper boats on the surface of a pond. Some sink, some are drowned. Some succeed. This is Dollhouse. |
