Artist History
There is an amazing synergy between Charlie Matthews and his producer and long-standing friend, Matthew Weiss. Not only do they share the same physical attributes, but they also have the same tastes in music, food, women, clothing, etc., both went to the same colleges (The Evergreen State College, and the University of Washington), both received the same degrees (B.A. in violin performance) and even prefer the same brand of toothpaste and use toothbrushes of the same color. Would that all artists and their producers were so fortunate to have such harmonious relationships! Charlie and Matt have appeared on the Alice in Chains CD, "Jar of Flies", with Artis the Spoonman in the concert hall, at weddings, fine parties, hip pubs, and on the sidewalks of Seattle's Pike Place Market with Trio con Brio (Mp3.com's #1 classical chamber group at www.TrioconBrio.com), in dingy garage recording studios, at Bumbershoot with Vagabound Review, and on local and national TV and radio.
