Press Reviews
“. . . no big push for stardom, instrumental wizardry or gimmicks of any kind. Just six guys, their instruments, and whatever spare time they could find over the last 15 years to practice enough to sound good after three beers. . . And now comes “Separate Checks.” After hearing these songs, fans will no doubt wonder if this is the same party band that recorded Combo Level just three years ago. The songwriting, arrangements and vocal delivery represent a staggering leap forward. This album is as solid and complete as most band’s third, fourth or fifth release, and certainly sounds odd labeled as a “sophomore effort” . . . These aren’t just songs that need a wider audience; there are audiences that need these songs. Especially in the vapid musical climate we are currently in. In fact, young bands wanting to put out their own material and do it with any sort of chutzpah or sincerity would do well to take notes.” -- Darren Hunt, Wazzup Magazine, June 2000“Top stinkin’ drawer, in my book.” -- Hunter Perrin |
