    Artist History
Armed with a couple of simple chords, a ragged acoustic guitar, and the inspiration of a folky hoarse throated guitar toteting father, Aaron McKenzie Fraser began his self taught musical career at the age of 15 in 1994. Drawing on the influences of many acoustic, folk, and pop rock artists, Aaron crafted his own style of strong and passionate vocals with mellow but driven guitar styling.Never being one to follow the crowd, he ignored covering the songs of others, and focused instead on his own thoughtful songwriting abilities. After less than a year of steady playing, singing, and writing, Aaron started the pop-rock group, "Shut Up", where he played the part of lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, songwriter, recording engineer, and manager. The years flew by along with the changes in musical flavours of the band. Upon leaving his hometown of Moncton New Brunswick in August of 1999 for Ottawa Ontario, "Shut Up" had developed into a veritable psychedelic soundscape factory.Yet, leaving his home didn't mean leaving his folky-rock roots behind, Aaron continues to progress musically. Finding inspiration in the lives, experiences, and emotions of others and himself. Aaron McKenzie Fraser delivers songs of hope, love, fear, and pain in a driven, thoughtful, and intelligent manner.
