Artist description schnook are unique in that they do not define their music by style but rather by something much more earnest - mood. The core of any decent band is song writing. This is schnook's greatest strength and the defining quality that represents their music. Traynor's song writing is based on producing a sound that is not only unique but also catchy, emotive and driven. With new front man Quick entering the band's lineup after the departure of Andy Leonard, schnook have hit the ground running. Quick's hard-edged but dynamic vocals have propelled the band towards a more aggressive stance, but the variety in their sound still remains. The rest of the band are experienced and talented musicians who know how to exceed audience's expectations by not adhering to one style of playing or volume. Williams' bass playing is not restricted to just mimicking the guitar but stands out with its own unique sound and style; Jeffery's drumming is truly awesome with the ability to play subtle rhythms as well as loud rocking beats; and as the only guitar on stage, Traynor's playing and use of effects accomplishes what some bands fail to achieve even with two guitarists. schnook are a special band and in a turbulent musical industry that is very rare. They are all the more special considering the fact they are totally independent.
