Artist History RESURRECTED was founded in late 1993 by Carsten Scholz (vocals), Michael Scholz (drums) and Thomas Meyer (guitar). Always wiiling to play brutal and uncompromising Death-Metal we´ve released three demotapes until 1996, the "Darkside of reality" demo in 1994, the "Sinner of an unable god" demo in 1995 and finally "The lament configuration" tape in 1996 which sold more than 500 times and is sold out now. After that demo we´ve been signed to "Underground Promotion" (now known as "Arbeit Macht Fleisch Records") for one 7" EP. This EP was entitled "Bloodline" and has been released in December 1997, containing four tracks of brutal death metal. Through this release we gained the attention of several record labels and finally signed to the german label "Eaststar Records" for three full length albums. Our first full length was out in December 1998 and wore the title "Raping whores". It received nearly overwhelming reviews in the german metal press and so RESURRECTED´s reputation as a brutal Death Metal band spreaded all over Europe. Due to lots of problems with distribution and financials we´ve cancelled our collaboration with Eaststar Records in summer 1999 and signed to the famous german underground label PERVERTED TASTE. Caused by their good distribution structures with a major distributor in Europe we an Perverted Taste decided to rerelease our debut album on CD and limited Picture LP.The following album "Faireless to the flesh" then came out in January 2000. It´s the most brutal RESURRECTED release ever, containing 10 tracks of grindcrushing, really fast and intense music. The record led us to many interviews with major metal magazines in europe, such as the "Legacy", "Ablaze" or the "Sonic Seducer" as well as uncountable fanzine features. We´ve promoted the album with touring a lot, one outstanding outcome was the european tour with FLESHGRIND (US) and COERCION (SWE) in spring 2000 over Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Holland and Belgium. Finally we´ve appeared on the legendary "Milwaukee Metal Fest XIV" in the United States.

Press Reviews Voices From The Darkside Review July 2001: RESURRECTED are hailing from Duisburg / Germany and should be known to fans of brutal Death Metal by now as "Butchered In Excrement" is already their third full length. And judging the band by the qualities delivered on this newest offering, I don't really understand why I didn't notice them any earlier. This is absolutely cool stuff, totally in the extreme grinding US Death Metal style that bands like CANNIBAL CORPSE, SUFFOCATION and the likes managed to establish several years ago. Even though the eight own compositions are mainly straight ahead and right into your face, RESURRECTED perform them on a quite high technical level. Certainly not original at all (who cares?!), but always brutal as fuck! The whole record is blessed with a very powerful production and comes up with a great coverart by David Bollt, who a.o. was already responsible for the visual side on the DIVINE EMPIRE debut. But the ice on the cake definitely is RESURRECTED's nicely executed cover of the SUFFOCATION classic 'Infecting The Crypts', which fits the record just perfectly! So, the only little complain I have is the stupid porn like 'Macabre Fuckfest' intro. I never really understood why bands like these used the porn genre as inspiration source for a musical style that mainly deals with guts, blood and gore… But anyway, as the intro only lasts a couple of seconds, we shouldn't value that too much and highly recommend "Butchered In Excrement" to every fan of brutal US style Death instead!
